Swags and Such...

Craft Extravaganza...

Last week was quite eventful as I manage to complete eventhough half way some of these arrangements. As it would normally happen, I will fell in love with some of them and reluctant to part with it for its rightful owner. Anyway...I still have some stuffs left to duplicate them. Now its to make the paper ribbons or silk and attached it and they will be done. Soon enough will be with their rightful owners. I know they will like them as much as I do....but still I hope what I have made is as per what they have in mind...This is usually the difficult part for me to do if the items are custom ordered..I rather just make them ahead and have the available stocks on display and chosen by those who like them...next will be in calculating the costs for each piece..main will be the material cost and than the workmanship. Since I bought the silk flowers from Malaysia last summer..some air freight charges has got to be added...here my cake scale comes in handy...

Floral Crafts

Sometimes I couldn't resist trying out making the floral accents shown below...I don't really care how it turns out as it is something that i made myself and I just love trying. If it looks good than I will keep and pack it properly..if it doesn't..still I will find a place for it in the house. But last week...Ana ask if I can make some for her....since I still have a lot of flowers brought over to Dhahran from Malaysia 4 years ago...I make the pieces shown below...it was an enjoyable time for me and I still got hot glue burns no matter how careful I am...

Cinnamon Florals etc....

I love the smell of spices and varying colors...so I match these combinations for my floral crafts...I used a lot of cinnamon and silk flowers and ribbons..to this day I still have some stocks. Mainly the pieces were made as is basis..depending on what type of flowers and colors I have.. I did not get any formal training or attended any classes as I was working fulltime..but I do browse flower & gift shops a lot and buy books to guide me and the internet... so from these, I managed to come up with what I have...no two pieces are the same...

I guess my training as an engineer helps to trigger the creativity side of making these crafts and understanding the set-up of starting them..but I do had a lot of burns from the hot glue gun and piercing from wires etc...

So..in my bio I can add....engineer..production & engineering manager.. trainer...crafts maker... mom&wife..and the most precious is the last one....

Swags..Topiaries..Wreaths...

I learned to do these florals crafts right at the time when my maid ran away..probably it was a stress buster...sometime in 2000..I love every pieces that sometimes I find it hard to part with it when somebody wants it... it soon became a very productive hobby as I sold them at malls and flea market and by word of mouth...
